5.0 out of 5 stars The stellar Stellar, May 15, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Hasselblad Stellar Camera - Silver/Olive Wood (Electronics)
This camera is close to being the ultimate expression for the well to do casual user.
No view finder or articulated display, so you are limited to picture taking by looking at the rear lcd. But many users do not use these features anyway. Newer versions of the Sony add these features and other capabilities, but the newer versions do not deliver higher image quality.
The Sony RX 100 that this camera is based on, set a new high image quality standard for pocket sized advanced compacts, with a larger more sensitive sensor and an incredible array of adjustments and features for those who are interested. Hasselblad is not slumming, here. That Hasselblad chose this base camera for its "Stellar" model, should signal to anyone, that they believe the camera has quality where it counts.

Because they want the name and bells and whistles that come with the Acura, that's why. So I bit. I have a old Hasselblad 500CM, undoubtedly the finest film camera every made, the Astronauts used one on the moon. Fond memories of Hasselblad and a lot of cash in my pocket gave me there urge. So how is this different from a top of the line Sony point and shoot. Mechanically electronically, they are the same, but it would be hard to improve on the RX-100, it is the finest made today. With the 20 MP sensor and Zeiss lens it will give pictures as good as most SLR's It will make movies in 1080 format. Why have two cameras when one little one will do. The Hasselblad comes with all the bells and whistles though. Whether that is worth double or quadruple the price, depending on whether you get it on sale or not, is your call. I'm a sucker for status... Read more
